This page contains examples of my painting. Although I have a minor in Art from Eastern New Mexico University, I consider myself largely self-taught as a painter. I studied mostly drawing in school and didn't really start painting seriously until almost ten years after graduation. I have refined what I do through experimentation, and trial and error. I am currently trying to get acquainted with the airbrush in order to learn new techniques, and to expand and improve my work.
I prefer the realistic style, and try to make my paintings as close to what I actually see as possible. I want the viewer to see what I've seen and be able to understand and appreciate what they are seeing without necessarily having to ask what it is or what my motives were in painting a subject.
I consider myself primarily a painter, though in recent years, painting has taken a back seat to the metal sculpture. Still, I love painting and truly think that is what I do best.

These are just a few of the paintings I've done over the years. As you can see, my subject matter covers a wide range of topics which parallel my interests and/or hobbies.

When I was a toddler, or so I'm told by my parents, I used to get in trouble for drawing on the walls in our house. Well, I still draw on walls, though now I don't get in quite as much trouble. The mural above was done for the Jal Chamber of Commerce on the side of their building and facing what was a small park called "Constitution Square."
Below are other examples of my mural work.
